Smith of Santa Ana, CA, knew his opponent had seen tape of him and was planning to take him down to avoid Darren’s devastating strikes and clinch. The two traded shots then clinched. Smith eventually broke free from the clinch and landed some devastating punches knocking Shorter down and then threw the ropes forcing the referee to stop the fight in less than a minute into the first round.
