It was an exciting night Sunday as Darren Smith entered the cage. From the outset it was obvious that Darren was the bigger and stronger of the two. After a lot of cage pressure and ground and pound, Smith was able to secure the rear mount as he pounded Miranda in round one.

This scenario played out again in round two and three as Smith took Miranda down from every position, pounded him on the ground and attempted submissions via rear choke. Cecil Peoples, the referee, almost stopped the contest a few times but Victor Miranda held on and toughed it out.

Kudos to Darren for a great fight!
